Top things to do in Everglades National Park in Summer (Updated September 2026)

A two hours boat with don. Don explained everything with a lot of knowledge , we saw dolphins and special things.

Amazing, we saw so much wildlife, I had no idea how diverse the Everglades are, our guide was very knowledgeable.

We had a blast. It wad a 4 hour drive round trip to do this excursion and it was well worth it. Don our boat captain was very knowledgeable. We saw many types of birds, dolphins wave riding, jumping fish, and mush more. We definitely recommend it.

My sister and I had a wonderful time on this tour! Our National Park Tour guide was engaging and knowledgeable. He (Bobby?) kept his 'eye on the sky' as foul weather was suspect, while maximizing our wildlife sightings. And he waited until he was certain before identifying a specific bird species, or water creature. He slowed/turned the boat to ensure every passenger was given an opportunity, shared the positives and challenges of the Everglades and the various regions/habitats, and entertained specific questions while ensuring the safety of our tour. We were rained upon and did not care! Mosquitos were manageable out on the water (plus there was a nice breeze). We would highly recommend! Downsides? He was strictly speaking (as advertised) so a couple of guests were a bit lost, and he did not introduce the "guide in training" who was on the boat with us which I thought was a bit odd since she was wearing official NP uniform.

It was a very good trip out with John both times as we caught plenty of fish. He knows the best spots to find action, and the scenery through the Everglades makes it even better on a clear day. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area for the first time or anyone looking to try fishing.

Last week my husband really enjoyed two morning trips booked here. The fish he brought back, including snapper and seatrout, made for an amazing dinner that evening. Even the ones that got away made for great stories later. He asked me to pass along his thanks to Carl for such a memorable time.

Absolutely outstanding. Don is a super knowledgeable guide and a character! Loved meeting him and learning from him about the Everglades.

Don was our captain. He was friendly and provided a lot of info on the local flora and fauna of the area as well as the Colusa Indians and early settlers. It was a chilly day and unfortunately we didn’t see any dolphins or manatees but learned a lot and enjoyed our trip. One suggestion, add a cushion to the bench seat. There are 4 cushioned captain chairs and one hard bench seat for two. Thanks Don!

We were having trouble finding an outing that was enjoyable for my entire family, ranging in age from 16 to 88. This did the trick. Everyone loved it. The price was reasonable and our guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The length of the tour was perfect for my older parents. And it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful being on the water. Plus we saw lots of dophins.

The guide Darrel Daniels was a local with a perspective unlike other guides. He knew historical events and landmarks as well as personal details that added authenticity to our experience.

Great trip! First of all, this is not the trip I originally booked. Due to scheduling changes, my shorter morning trip became unavailable but the director phoned me immediately and offered me a choice of another trip at the cost of my original booking. So my friend and I ended up on this longer trip, guided by Captain Don. It was just us and another couple. Don was so knowledgeable and so eager to show us around. He had spotted a group of dolphins mating earlier in the day, so we zipped right out and he located them -- I mean, how often do you get to watch dolphins canoodling right in front of you? Then we headed further out and Don took us to whatever looked interesting, which was a lot. We stopped at 2 small islets/cays/beaches? I don't know the proper word. But anyway, he showed us all sorts of interesting marine and bird life, as well as local vegetation and objects of historic interest such as the ancient oyster shell wall. Believe me, it's impressive. If you are guided by Captain Don, make sure to ask him about Nyad -- he has a lot to tell you. All in all, a wonderful outing with a very pleasant and knowledgable guide. I'd repeat this trip if I were in the area, that's how good it was.

Highly recommend this tour. It was so much fun, even only seeing to Gators, which was only due to the recent rain here. I would definitely do this again.
